Digital Portrait of Hula After Thiebaud

Our Graphics Manager, Mike's (with some help from ChatGPT) attempt at digitally mimicking Wayne Thiebaud's colorful thick-paint style. Inspired by Thiebaud's "Art Comes from Art" exhibition at the Legion of Honor, it was a fun exercise mocked up in a contemporary classic silver on white floater frame. Exhibition through August 17, 2025.

Roses, Light
& Layers

What began as a seasonal tribute — a photograph of pink and white roses in a delicate glass vase — soon became something more. The subject may be floral, but what drew us in was the background: a textured wall glowing with scumbled layers of “broken” color — etherial light blue-lavender washes floating over an underpainting of hot pink. That subtle complexity inspired us to explore a variety of framing styles to see how each version would interact with those underlying tones.

Framing the Objects That Tell Your Story

From cherished family heirlooms to sentimental keepsakes, we specialize in framing three-dimensional objects with care, creativity, and archival precision. The example shown here — an antique silver knife and fork set with alabaster handles — was custom-framed in a recessed shadowbox. The warm silver fillets and rice-paper-textured matting bring elegance and softness, while the foam-core interior ensures the objects are supported safely and invisibly from behind.

The cross-section diagram below offers a glimpse into the craftsmanship beneath the surface — a layered approach designed not just to display, but to preserve.
