A Closer Look
The Green Season (and how to frame it)
Lifting two dimensions into three
In this herb print, a Nottingham green mat is lifted to cast a soft shadow—giving the artwork dimensionality.
It’s a simple move, but it changes the whole feel: crisp, clean, and a little more alive—like fresh herbs in a container, rather than a flat photograph.

Vincent van Gough, Roses

For this mockup we used van Gough's Roses (original size 71 × 90 cm, approx. 28 × 36 inches) paired with a 2 3/4" Marais European Silver frame and a 1 1/2" Aspen Linen liner. The soft green liner echoes the spring green in the painting itself—an effect that feels especially fitting here, since Van Gogh painted Roses near the end of his stay at Saint-Rémy, in a period he described as intensely productive and restorative. The result is a design that firmly holds the painting while allowing room to breathe.
