"When there's snow on the roof, how do you keep a fire in the furnace? Cool it, man, cool it." - Charley Harper

From Charley Harper's serigraph of the same name (1974). Beloved American illustrator and self-proclaimed minimal realist, Charley Harper’s graphically-charged and often humorous depictions of flora and fauna continue to provide a wealth of imagery that translates perfectly into tiles. Motawi’s unique mastery of the Cuenca technique of tile-making makes it possible to give the animals of Harper’s colorfully whimsical world a new life in a new medium.
