Framing of silk scarves is always a challenge because if we sew the scarf to its backing, we run the slight risk of a run in the silk. It can be done, but in this case our customer chose the pressure mount method. In order to avoid sewing the scarf, we lay it on a fabric covered soft padded base, and cover it with tightly fitted UV protective acrylic. The silk grabs the fabric and sinks into the padded base just enough to hold in place with no stitches or tape or other potentially damaging hinging methods. Pressure does it all and works for almost any size scarf.
