Signature mats are a wonderful way to celebrate any special occasion. Just bring us the photo (or a place-holder), and we will cut a mat with a wide border to accommodate the number of signatres and greetings you anticipate.
 We also cut a small V-groove around the photo mat window so your guests don't accidentally sign too close to the photograph. We then cover the photo with ultraviolet filtering Tru-Vue acrylic or glass under the mat to protect it during the signing process. Finally we temporarily fasten the package into the frame to keep signatures inside the signable area at the edge of the mat.
When your signing event is over, bring the framed mat back to us and we'll put the acrylic on top of the mat and finish the back of the frame for hanging while you wait.

We recommend the following sizes for acid-free signature mats:
8 x 10 photo: Up to 100 signatures - 16" x 20"
8 x 10 photo: Up to 200 signatures - 20" x 24"
For larger photos, add at least 6" of matting on each side to accommodate signatures. Give us a call to discuss your options. (510) 849-4444
Signature mats don' t have to be white. You can create a formal look with a black or dark colored mat and a silver pen. We recommend the use of color fast pens such as the Micron-Sigma pen sold by Artists and Craftsman art supplies in Berkeley, Ca. We also recommend the use of ultraviolet protective glass or acrylic to protect this future family heirloom. |
